Bill Fitzgerald

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Bill brings over thirty years of executive experience in the computer and technology industry to his Insigniam consulting. Bill began his association with us as a client when he was a Vice President and General Manager at Control Data Corporation (CDC). Bill hired Insigniam to elevate the performance of his 1,800-person business unit. The outcome of the Insigniam enterprise-wide initiative exceeded targets and reduced costs, resulting in a $22 million increase in profitability, an outcome considered practically undoable in a governm ent contract business. In addition, it enabled the division to achieve the Minnesota Quality Award in 1995. Bill's prowess in leading a transformation in performance at Control Data is acknowledged in The Eye for Innovation by R.M. Price, former CEO of CDC.
Bill was also the COO of Factory Motor Parts Company (FMP), a privately-held distributor of auto parts. At FMP he led a successful ERP implementation and helped establish 40 new warehouse distribution outlets.
Other exciting and noteworthy professional experience includes:
- Working with senior players of the Israeli military and technical communities as a board member of Elbit
- Manufacturing and supporting all mission computers for the U.S. Navy's F-18 and F-14 fighter planes
- Managing international finance and systems operations in over 35 countries, as Vice President of CDC's International Operations
- Leading a new line of business, which eventually earned annual revenues of $500 million

BILL AFTER WORK
Bill loves spending time with his family, which includes his high-school sweetheart and wife of 49 years, and their two daughters, who have traveled the world and provided Bill with sons-in-law whom he adores. Despite a hearing impediment from the age of five months, Bill's youngest daughter recently received her master's degree in technology management. Bill taught Finance for non-financial managers, for AMA during the 70s. In addition, Bill enjoys computers and technology, choir-singing, classical music, photography, and playing the piano and organ.
